On Sunday, 5th July, Aniyah Events used PrivePas's collab portal to manage guest check-in for a smaller, more intimate event and it's a good reminder that proper verification isn't just for large-scale events with hundreds of guests.
The Setup
Aniyah Events was given a dedicated collab link, giving their team direct access to manage the guest list and issue a security staff scanner link without needing a full platform account of their own. Staff were set up in minutes, scanning straight from their phone browser with no app install required.
Why It Still Mattered at This Size
It's easy to assume a smaller, more personal guest list doesn't need the same verification a large event does everyone mostly knows everyone, so what's the risk? But small events are just as exposed to a single forwarded invitation link or a "can my cousin come too" that quietly turns into an uninvited plus-one. Unique QR codes solve this regardless of guest count each code works for exactly one person, once.
What Happened on the Day
Every guest was checked in with their own unique QR code, scanned directly by Aniyah Events' team from their phone. No duplicate entries, no confusion at the door, and no uninvited guests were able to gain entry with a forwarded invitation.
Why the Collab Model Worked Well Here
Even for a smaller guest list, having a dedicated collab link meant Aniyah Events' team could manage check-in independently without needing back-and-forth with the event owner over access or guest list changes. The setup scaled down cleanly there was no unnecessary complexity for a smaller event, just the same reliable verification.
The Bottom Line
Guest list size doesn't change the core problem an unverifiable invitation is unverifiable whether ten people or a thousand are invited. Unique QR codes solve it either way, and the collab access model makes it just as simple to set up for a small, personal event as a large one.
